## Sonnet I2S Input Module - The Transparent Digital Connection

The I2S connection is the most transparent way to connect digital audio equipment over short distances—free from the intervention of interfaces like AES/EBU, SPDIF Coax, Toslink, or USB. The Sonnet I2S Input Module brings this purity to your Sonnet DAC, optimized for seamless integration with our streaming lineup.
### Impedance-Matched Technology
Sonnet employs a proprietary data transport based on the characteristic impedance of standard UTP cable. Both transmitter and receiver are designed for this 100 Ohm load, enabling cable lengths up to **30 meters** without signal loss or jitter—far beyond typical I2S implementations.
### Flexible Compatibility
The module features switchable loading via onboard jumpers:
- **Jumpers installed:** 100 Ohm termination for optimal performance with Sonnet Hermes and Metrum Ambre streamers
- **Jumpers removed:** 100 kOhm high-impedance mode for broader compatibility with third-party equipment
### Wide Device Support
The I2S module is guaranteed compatible with:
- **Sonnet Hermes** streamer
- **Metrum Ambre** streamer
Additionally, it works with numerous third-party devices, either directly or with a custom cable. Known compatible devices include:
