## Metrum Acoustics Ambre - The Bit-Perfect Roon Endpoint
**Stream Bit-Perfect Low-Jitter Digital Audio. Roon Ready, but also Works with Volumio, GentooPlayer, Audirvana...**
The Ambre is a ROON Ready (so fully Roon certified) digital end point, but is also able to run other software. Ambre has I2S-RJ45, AES/EBU, Coax and Toslink outputs. The Ambre Endpoint is a great addition to any audiophile setup because of its high quality clocking and linear power supply components.
### Open Architecture
At Metrum Acoustics we do not believe in taking prisoners, hence the choice to provide our clients with a platform with an open architecture. Using our Ambre, a customer could swap the internal micro SD card, and open up a whole new world with content from different providers or services such as Audirvana, Volumio, PiCorePlayer, Qobuz, Tidal, Deezer, moOde or even being discovered in a network using UPnP.
Add web radio and play it throughout your house, office, wherever you wish to enjoy music. As for warranty we are OK with you choosing freedom, however as long as the changes apply to the software only.
### Digital Outputs
- **Coaxial Output:** A 75 Ohm coaxial cable should be used to connect the Ambre to other digital audio equipment like a DAC. The RCA coaxial output can handle a maximum sample rate of 192 kHz.
- **AES/EBU Output:** When using the AES/EBU digital output a 110 Ohms XLR cable should be used. The AES/EBU interface can handle a maximum sampling rate of 192 kHz.
- **Optical Output:** A standard Toslink cable can be used. The max sampling rate of the Toslink interface is limited to 96 kHz.
- **I2S Output:** The I2S connection is the most transparent way to connect digital audio equipment over short distances without interference. The I2S standard is optimized as an interconnection between Metrum Acoustics products but will work with other gear as well. If your Metrum Acoustics DAC has the I2S option installed you can use a simple UTP cable to connect both devices.
### Galvanic Isolation
All outputs of the Ambre are galvanically isolated, ensuring that noise from the network or streaming source does not contaminate your DAC's delicate analog circuitry.
### Power Supply
A generous 30 VA toroidal transformer powers the Ambre, switchable between 110/115VAC or 220/230VAC 50/60Hz—ensuring a clean, stable power source for the precision clocking and digital circuitry.
